YCU’s Academic Support Center for International Students: ASCI
Prof. Jay (Jae-Woong) Yoon Ph.D.
I’d like to extend my cordial welcome to international students who show some interest in and visit YCU from many parts of the world. I am professor Jay Yoon Ph. D. who is in charge of the Academic Support Center for International Students: ASCI. YCU has been earning a reputation around the world and widely known due to various activities and performances. YCU has raised the degree of recognition in Vietnam as a result of considerable effort for the mutual development in the partnership with HUST (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) in ACU project, and succeeded in forming a positive image of YCU as one of trustworthy international universities for their bright future among Nepali youngsters through cooperative activities with Nepali organizations such as the agreement with Nepal Culture Center. Moreover, many young people from different parts of the world keep knocking on YCU’s door for their study. Therefore, YCU decided to establish this support center to provide many of our international students with practical assistance and escalate their academic ability. ASCI will do its best to help our international students to study for their bright future with a lot of trust in YCU. Thank you so much!

Purpose of Establishment
To support international students who wish to study at YCU in many aspect as academic business, transfer for higher education and employment with a viwe to making their academic career more meaningful and helping them to get some hope for their bright future
Assigned Tasks
- 1Recruitment of Internation Freshemen Students ( Foreigners staying in and out of Korea) - Cooperational Work with Admission Office of YCU
- 2Academic Support for International Students – The management of International Students’ Courseworks, Counselling for International Students, International Students’ Credit Management
- 3Support for International Students’ Transferring to a Korean offline University as the third grader (junior) - Contact and Promotion of the Agreements with Korean 4-year Offline Universities for the Transfer of International Students
- 4Establishment of Free Online Korean Language Classes
Information on the Support of International Students
- Overseas On-site Admission and Academic Information Sessions (New Semester Visit) - Subject to Change
- Overseas On-site Collection of Prospective Applicants’ Application Forms
- Frequent Academic Counselling between Freshmen and the Guiding Professor using SNS such as WhatsApp etc.
- Promotion of Agreements with national organizations (such as National Culture Center etc.) of countries sending out labor force
